The V-Bar Cattle Company is located in the fertile Solomon Valley of North Central Kansas. We have raised registered Angus Cattle for twenty years with emphasis on calving ease, thickness, and fleshing ability. Traveler breeding has been used to achieve these goals. Along with our herd sire Acclaim, we've also used GDAR Traveler 7111, DHD Traveler 6807, OCC Discovery 918D, and an EXT son OCC Bonanza 880B. We have recently purchased OCC Elixer 827E, a promising Travelodge son.
Our main herd sire is OCC Acclaim 749A, owned with Ohlde Cattle Co.. Acclaim is sired by OAS Traveler 23-4, and his dam was the immortal Revolution Rose of RR 9239 who produced more herd sires in the Ohlde program than any other Angus cow to date. Acclaim is a 3/4 brother to the late OCC Aristocrat 797A who sired WRA Treasure D1 the bull that sold for $50,000 in the 1995 Treasure Test Bull sale in Montana.
We also have an embryo transfer program featuring OCC Dixie Erica 710X, the second highest selling female at the 1992 Basic Blacks female sale, topped only by her dam. The first natural calf by 710X and QAS Traveler 23-4 was OCC Blue Point 7042, the $13,500 top selling bull at the 1991 Midland Bull Test. We have individuals and embryos out of matings with 710X and sires : OCC Acclaim 749A, DHD Traveler 6807, GDAR Traveler 7111, and OCC Discovery 9180. OCC Dixie Erica 710X has been a great asset to our program.
